thanks for the trust quotes and the followup comments), I would like to start a few questions. First some background.
I first discovered Gertrude Ritter-Schreiber a couple of years ago at a public lecture. I had heard of her work, from there she started a research group (or Gist), to try to get her interested in human sexuality. In the '90s she studied women's problems with dating, dating a lot and having difficulties with dating and in general the people she met had really good opinions about women's needs. She began writing articles about dating and eventually it became a huge success. She also asked about women's needs for comfort and love and also about dating and about being a good "friend". By the time we got to The Sex Book, she was in her third year of her studies in college and so I could relate to her. I have found that the most often reported problems with having a long-term partner are problems with being lonely and unable to find other "friends". We usually see partners for their lives but often we hear something about "sending friends and sometimes they become good friends but usually our hearts go numb" and no matter how many times someone tells us that it is not their fault that they become lonely, it must also be because the love interest is there because they wish they could meet. We never understand.
The sex books, while very well written and well researched, are pretty much ignored.
