Trump may well take offense to this latest "concessor." For one thing, he believes that his party cannot be trusted to act under the influence of "neo-Communism," which he dismisses and even tries to distance himself from. Trump does not call for nationalization of the Federal Reserve Bank, he calls for an end to the Obama-era regulations on Wall Street that give banks and other financial institutions the power to influence their own investors.

But the more Trump is saying these things, the more he may appear to believe that the real conservative problem is not the GOP, but rather the Democrats. Even if he had been much more blunt in his criticism of Obama's policies at first, which he did in one interview with the radio anchor Carl Watters in January, Trump could have easily dismissed the Obama-era regulation on Wall Street as a "bad giveaway to the middle class." It's as if he believes that such efforts to expand income and wealth inequality are a giveaway to the middle class as well.

So if Trump is not willing to admit that there is indeed a "liberal divide" in the Party, he is simply wrong to say that. Given that he has taken pains to deny that he thinks a large portion of the American people are actually as happy
