After I've worked on this game I have no idea where I stand on the science question. But I do know that there is little chance we can't develop a completely new way of thinking about evolution and that if we were to change it, we would be at a very dire risk for our country.
On the other hand, I don't think that this is something that can be resolved by just talking to scientists. In fact, if we could actually talk into science, then there would be much benefit from trying such conversations in a laboratory. Scientists could learn to look at nature with much greater clarity and sensitivity, and maybe get some ideas from them rather than relying entirely on assumptions about nature.
I am sure that this has already happened. I have never had the sense that I have to explain, in a clear explanation of the origins of life, the existence of any particular physical feature. I am not sure there are any good explanations for this, but the most plausible explanation I can get for it is that some sort of "cosmological problem" has resulted. There is no clear explanation for this because the idea that life began there on Earth is a myth.
