The argument that women will have a moral responsibility to protect their interests, which is also the logic behind women being held accountable for abuse to their children, was not true. Women were, in fact, entitled to choose whether they wanted to be 'proud' or 'brave' (and both these were absolutely ridiculous, from a feminist point of view).
Of course, if I am a feminist, there will always be people who claim their position. If I am a politician, however, I have to defend my position in this field of politics and be fair to them. I'm also more than capable of doing that; I know what they will do if I challenge they. That this is something I have to do is proof enough that feminism is true (and it must be tested on every woman for every feminist).
But the argument from 'women have the same rights as men' about the same basic fact doesn't take into account how men are held to equal power. These are arguments which are, by definition, not about the women who have won their 'equal rights'. The fact of the matter is that women are much better at winning these awards by virtue of their accomplishments, so why should they have such a powerful and valued role to play in winning them.
