So that brings me to my conclusions.

The LDS Church does not have any evidence that the Prophet Joseph Smith or his family ever knew they were being used for selling gold or silver to foreign buyers.

While the church has not admitted any such record in public on this subject, they have made two allegations:

First, Joseph and the Book of Mormon never knew they were being used for the purchase of gold, silver, and other valuable items.

Secondly, the First Presidency has not told their LDS counterparts that any of their statements about being used for these transactions are true.

In a 2009 letter to all members, Church Executive Director and Director Joseph Fielding Smith said of these three major allegations, "…the Church is aware and aware that some people have made improper statements about certain things, and that we are aware of others."

The Church has refused to comment on these three allegations and will have to consider these allegations with respect to future meetings with the Book of Mormon Church.

These three accusations are just the latest in a series of similar accusations about the Prophet Joseph Smith. Smith stated that he knew that the Book of Mormon sold gold in gold bars and silver in an article on The Deseret News, published on June 17, 2009.
